Axel is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay, before returning to Fresno to complete his Master of Science in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling at California State University, Fresno. Axel believes that choosing to begin therapy is one of the most courageous investments a person can make in themselves. His mission is to provide a compassionate, authentic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe enough to be vulnerable, explore their experiences, and discover their inner strengths. He recognizes that healing is not about becoming someone different but about reconnecting with the person you have always been beneath life's challenges. Through empathy, collaboration, and genuine care, Axel strives to help every client feel seen, valued, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
Axel works with individuals of all ages and genders, LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, families, children, and students. As a bilingual therapist, he provides therapy in both English and Spanish and is deeply passionate about serving the Mexican and Spanish-speaking communities. He understands that culture, family, and lived experiences shape every person's story and believes therapy should honor those experiences with respect and compassion. Drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment Theory, Trauma-Informed Care, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Axel tailors each session to meet the unique needs of every client while building a trusting therapeutic relationship that promotes healing, self-discovery, and lasting change.
In addition to evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Axel integrates psychoeducation and practical coping strategies to help clients gain insight, strengthen emotional resilience, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. He has experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, infidelity, family conflict, life transitions, identity exploration, and struggles with meaning and purpose. Above all, Axel believes that every individual possesses the capacity for growth, healing, and transformation. Whether someone is taking their first step into therapy or continuing their journey of self-discovery, he considers it a privilege to walk alongside them as they build healthier relationships, embrace their authentic selves, and create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
