Our clinical staff hold credentials that have been accepted by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences to be able to practice marriage & family therapy. Associates are supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor and managed by the owner of the clinic. Staff hold consultations each week with their supervisors to provide competent care based on your treatment plan.

Lena Ohanian is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with Janz Family Therapy. She recieved her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Palo Alto University, with emphasis in Marriage, Family and Children. Lena has provided counseling to the Fresno community since 2022 working with individuals, groups, and couples. Lena believes in the importance of therapy being fostered to fit within the cultural frame of her clients. Lena’s person-centered approach has a focus on the use of mindfulness and self-awareness to help her clients see, reach, and accept their true selves. Lena enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds who seek to collaborate with their therapist in creating a more fulfilling lived experience.

Alyse is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor working at Janz Family Therapy. Alyse attended Biola University and earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Biblical & Theological studies. Additionally, she earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University.
Alyse adopts a Person-Centered orientation to therapy because she believes in each individual’s ability to reach their goals with the proper support, education and motivation. Alyse utilizes a combination of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the purpose of addressing both behavioral management skills and inner healing work. Alyse is passionate about understanding the impact of trauma on our psychology, and learning healthy coping skills to decrease unwanted behaviors through various evidence-based Trauma-informed psychological interventions. Sarah previously served a practicum at Andrew’s Community Counseling Center. She is a graduate of both Fresno Pacific University, and Andrew’s University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In addition to her work with Janz Family Therapy, Sarah is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology.

Ashley Hanley is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with Janz Family Therapy. Ashley has a passion for working with people in any stage of life navigating through life situations. Ashley is dedicated to providing competent, compassionate care to individuals and families by providing a non-judgmental environment and unconditional positive regard. Ashley is committed to empowering her clients to navigate challenges and providing a safe environment. Ashley individualizes treatment plans for each client, tailoring a specific treatment plan to meet each client's unique needs. Ashley integrates a biopsychosocial (i.e., physical health, coping skills, social skills, relationships, self-esteem, social life, peer relationship, and family dynamics) approach to health and wellness, including nutrition as a clinician to better understand the person as a whole. Ashley has experience working withstudents ranging from elementary years through high school, to young adulthood. Ashley has worked with individuals experiencing challenges related to low self-esteem, family conflict, anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, and mood disorder.

Micayla is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with Janz Family Therapy. She attended California Baptist University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with Marriage and Family Therapy option. Micayla’s approach uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered theories to help you work toward creating change, healing, and wellness. Using her unique and dedicated background of both dance and psychology, Micayla has a passion for helping athletes and dancers optimize their mental strength and potential. Micayla is well aware of both the challenges and gifts that being an athlete and performer brings to our daily lives. During her time in graduate school, Micayla learned the positive correlations of dance and mental health, including studies that found an increased positive mood, well-being, body-image and quality of life when people were given dance movement opportunities (Koch Kunz, Lykou, & Cruz, 2014). As part of treatment planning, Micayla works with clients to assist them in making the most of their skills and talents to retain the joy and benefits gained from these activities for mental fitness. Vanessa Flores is a bilingual (English & Spanish) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal State Monterey Bay and graduated with her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Vanessa previously worked for Pajaro Valley Prevention & Student Assistance for two years where she provided school based mental health services to children, adolescents, and families who struggled with difficult life transitions, family separation, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. She is passionate to help and support individuals and families receiving hospice and palliative care services find peace and acceptance at the end of life. Vanessa focuses on providing a safe space for clients to express their feelings surrounding these difficult experiences as it is an important step in helping them achieve peace. She utilizes CBT, DBT, and integrates mindfulness approaches in order to promote positivity, create change, and acceptance in her clients lives. Leah was promoted to Senior Licensed Mental Health Therapist in 2024 due to her extensive experience and dedication to the field. Leah is a licensed Marriage Family and Child Therapist who works with an all inclusive population; children, teens and adults, with over seven years of experience in the field. Outside of the practice, she currently works as an adjunct professor teaching college and life success skills, and previously other courses such as parenting and anger management. Leah's philosophy with treatment is personal empowerment, with clients’ taking an active role in their own therapeutic experience. Leah works with a variety of relationship dynamics: including family, couples, and polyamorous relationships. Leah incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, humor, mindfulness, meditation, art and play therapy into her practice to help clients explore healthy ways to address trauma, anxiety, depression, sexuality, sexual health, grief and loss, and life stage changes. Danielle Mendoza is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that works with adults only. Danielle primarily works with those who are looking to manage anxiety and depression. Danielle strives to create a supportive environment for clients to effectively work on their goals and to create change. Danielle graduated from Fresno State with her master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fresno State as well. Danielle previously worked at Central Star Community Services as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist where she provided therapy and case management services to individuals with adjustment, depression, anxiety, and trauma disorders.
